So the summer arrived. We suddenly found ourselves dipped into a muggy weather, into laziness or - the best scenario - into water.
But summer is also one of the best periods for art and, above all, for performing arts.
Every night, like nocturnal flowers, the streets of cities and little villages blossom with dancers, actors, fans, critics, mothers, children, old people going out on the doorstep to get a breath of fresh air… And for a while, summer seems to be the only antidote to the so dreaded and now inflationated separation of the public from contemporary art (if they’ve ever been close…).
So, ArtPool doesn’t go on holiday, although it “dilutes” its exits with this middle summer special issue. And it decided to point the binoculars (or better, both its feet) over Spain, land of corrida, sangria and paella. Ups, sorry… land of high level contemporary artists, actors and dancers but also ground for experimentation for a rich plankton of young and daring creative subjets. Harbor and leaving point for a journey long as a whole life. As well as for the other proposals of this issue, whose constant feature is the physical and existential displacement and the relationship with their land.
Enjoy your reading and enjoy your summer.
